After completing your substitute teacher application, you should contact any principal in the Washington County Schools and be interviewed. Once the interview is complete, the principal will notify Human Resources and you will be contacted to complete substitute teacher paperwork. Effective March 1, 2025, a substitute must work one day within a 60-day timeframe to remain active in Frontline and three days within a 6-month timeframe to remain employed with WCPS.

The Substitute Teacher plays a pivotal role in the overall education of Washington County Public Schools' students. Manage student learning in accordance with the goals and directives of the school and the division.
It shall be the school board policy that no present or prospective employee be discriminated against because of race, color, religion, national origin, age, or sex. Qualified candidates will be recruited, selected, and employed by the division without discrimination in any employment practice. The superintendent shall be responsible for developing a plan that implements the intent of the board.
Pay: $110 per day / Substitute.
Pay: $130 per day / Licensed Substitute.
